Ethnography and Education

Rationale

Ethnography and Education is an international network that develops an ethnographic perspective and methodology in education. We have a journal, an international email list, a book series and an annual conference. We illuminate educational practices through empirical methodologies which prioritise the experiences and perspectives of those involved. We are particularly open to sociological perspectives and general educational studies as well as anthropology. Our priority is to support ethnographic research that involves long-term engagement with those studied in order to understand their cultures, to use multiple methods of generating data and to recognise the centrality of the researcher in the research process.
